Young Solutionaries Help Improve Health in Their Communities

A friend forwarded me this short but inspiring trailer for the documentary film, Revolutionary Optimists. Lawyer-turned-social entrepreneur, Amlan Ganguly, is working to empower children in the poorest neighborhoods in Kolkata, India, to become leaders in improving health. The adults say they're too busy to help "and what will come of it?" so Amlan focuses on the children, who bring their creativity and enthusiasm to looking out for the children in their villages -- their "brothers and sisters." It behooves us to remember that children have so much to offer in the journey toward a just, compassionate, healthy world for all. We can learn much from them, especially when we treat them as equal partners.
