The No Impact Man Triumvirate Hits Mainstream: Book, Movie, Website

If you keep up with the news at all, or cruise the blogosphere, then you've probably heard of No Impact Man, Colin Beavan. Beaven decided to conduct an experiment in which he and his (reluctant) family strived for a year to live a zero-waste life in New York City. Beaven kept a blog of his efforts, and continues to blog regularly. Now the Beaven family's experiences are hitting a broader audience with the release this month of the No Impact Man book (available now) and the No Impact Man movie (opens September 11).

Additionally, Beavan has created a No Impact Project website. The purpose of the website is to help concerned citizens "make choices that better their lives and lower their environmental impact through lifestyle change, community action, and participation in environmental politics." The site includes tips for making small personal changes, as well as suggestions for getting involved as a citizen. It also offers the "No Impact Experiment" to challenge people to take larger steps in living a low-impact life.
